Thomas shoots 100 in golf regional

EVANSVILLE - Tell City senior Amber Thomas shot a 100 in the IHSAA girls golf regional Saturday and did not qualify for the state finals.

Playing on the Eagle Valley course for the first time, Thomas parred the No. 4, 9 and 10 holes.

But she shot 4 over par on the par-3 No. 14 hole and was 3 over on No. 5, 11, 13 and 15.

The individuals who advanced to state shot 78, 81, and 82.

Evansville North, ranked 13th in the state, won the team title with 329 strokes.

North star Natalie Schmett was the medalist with a 5-over-par 75.
