TELL CITY—Jill Theis placed third to lead Perry Central to 11th in the small-school division of the Indiana middle school girls cross country state meet Saturday.
Perry Central scored 337 points. Norwell won the 27-team meet with 129.
Theis, an eighth grader, ran the 3-kilometer course in 11:35.9, 22 seconds faster than her 13th-place finish last year.
Other Perry Central scorers were Macey Emmons, 77th in 13:03.3; Elizabeth Dauby, 100th in 13:19.4; Hannah Hubert, 102nd in 13:20.0; and Caylyn Peter, 111th in 13:34.8.
