Theis, Perry Central girls dominate in PLAC meet

PAOLI—Perry Central took the top three places and five of the top nine to win the PLAC junior high girls cross country meet Thursday.

Perry Central scored 21 points and Paoli was second with 28.
Jill Theis was the individual winner in 12:20. Macey Emmons was second in 13:34 and Hannah Hubert third in 13:50.
The only time Theis was beaten all season was in the state meet, where she placed third.
Elizabeth Dauby placed sixth in 14:13 and Veronica Schwartz ninth in 14:27 to complete the Commodores’ scoring and also make all-conference, an honor that goes to the top 10 runners.
Perry Central’s other two runners also placed in the top 14 in the 31-runner field: Caylyn Peter was 12th in 14:46 and Olivia Hauser 14th in 14:49.
Perry Central had four of the top 10 runners in the boys race and finished second with 45 points. Mitchell won with 30 points.
Dakota Brewster placed fourth in 12:23 to lead the Commodores.
John Bashor was eighth in 12:41, Nathan Rogier ninth in 12:42, Marcus Graham 10th in 12:43, and Ethan Myler 13th in 12:57 to complete Perry Central’s scoring.
Jonathan Theis, 20th in 13:40, and Cole Johnson, 28th in 15:07, also finished for the Commodores.
Cooper Murphy of Crawford County was the individual winner in 11:56 in the 35-boy race.
