Emily Renee Tempel and Dane Edward Wheatley were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Tell City.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Shirley Tempel of Saint Croix. Mr. Wheatley is the son of James and Sarah Wheatley of Tell City. He is the grandson of Casper and Glenda Etienne and Anna Wheatley.
The bride was given in marriage by her father in the double-ring ceremony officiated by Rev. William Reid.
Sarah Kelly of Leopold, sister of the bride, was chosen as the matron of honor and Olivia Schroeder of Tell City, cousin of the groom, as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brianna Crockett of Bristow, Kyla Schroeder of Tell City, Molly Harth of Tell City, Katie Wheatley of Tell City, sister of the groom; Cassie Schaeffer of Ferdinand, and Krystal Braun of Tell City.
Madelyn Kelly of Leopold, godchild of the bride, was the miniature bride. Klyne Kelly of Leopold, niece of the bride, and Taylor Litherland of Cannelton, were flower girls. Easton Kelly of Leopold, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Sam Litherland of Cannelton served as best man. Groomsmen were Jon Tempel of Saint Croix, brother of the bride; Trevor King of Derby, cousin of the groom; Isaac Schroeder of Tell City, cousin of the groom; Trent Wheatley of Tell City, brother of the groom; Ray Hagedorn of Tell City, Chris Tempel of Saint Croix, brother of the bride; and Matt Braun of Tell City.
Ushers were Aron Kelly of Leopold, brother-in-law of the bride and Vince Hagedorn of Tell City.
Readers at the ceremony were Jackie Tempel of Bristow, godmother of the bride; and Brenda Martin of Tell City, aunt of the groom.
Special music during the ceremony was provided by Susan Ewing, the vocalist and Chris Seitz, the organist. Selections sung included “Feels Like Home,” “When You Say Nothing at All,” “Wind Beneath My Wings,” “I Cross My Heart,” “Always Be a Child” and “From This Moment.”
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Ferdinand Community Center. Assisting at the reception were Kathy Suhrheinrich, Susan King, Donna Bruggeman, and Kynlee Etienne.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Dane Wheatley honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and reside in Tell City.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in radiologic and imaging sciences with a minor in health administration. She is currently employed with Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City and Riverfront Clinic in Tell City.
Mr. Wheatley is a 2006 graduate of Tell City High School. He is employed with ATTC Manufacturing as a group leader.
