JASPER—Tell City has 19 athletes on its girls track team this year, which is more than usual. But that pales in comparison to Castle’s 70.

So predictably Castle dominated a triangular meet Thursday, winning with 101 points. Jasper scored 66 and Tell City 12.

“Castle will probably win the track regional this year—they’re that good,” said Tell City Coach Katie Chinn. “And we only ran most of our girls in one (individual) event because it was our third meet in eight days.”

Sarah Goffinet placed second in the 3200-meter run in 13:22 to lead Tell City.

She teamed with Courtney Young, Hanna Goffinet and Andyn Rowe to take second in the 3200 relay in 11:07.

Rowe placed third in the 1600 in 5:57.21 and Hanna Goffinet was fourth in 6:21.50.

Elizabeth Kohnert placed third in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches.

Kayla Galloway took fourth place in the shot put with a 26-foot-9 throw.
