Tell City's defense lacking in loss to Chargers

PETERSBURG - Tell City gave up its highest point total in more than 3 1/2 years in a 70-58 PAC girls basketball loss to Pike Central Saturday.

"We had four scorers in double digits and lost by 12," noted Tell City Coach John Lyons. "Our defense was not very good. When's the last time we gave up 70 points? Maybe once to Castle when they had a really outstanding team."

Lyons was correct. The last Tell City opponent to score 70 was Castle in a 74-69 win over the Marksmen Jan. 29, 2004.
