EVANSTON – A Tell City woman suffered serious injuries Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Indiana 66 west of Troy.
As of Monday, the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department had not released information on the crash that injured Sarah Lynn Goffinet. A Tell City High School graduate, she is the daughter of Chris and Darla Goffinet, and a college student.
Goffinet was traveling east toward Troy shortly after 5 p.m. A flatbed truck hauling a utility tractor was traveling west. The two vehicles collided just east of the highway’s intersection with Old Lamar Highway.
Bystanders helped extinguish a fire and fire department members worked to extricate Goffinet from the car. She was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
According to social-media posts by family members, she suffered broken bones and internal injuries.
Police at the scene said the driver and passenger of the truck suffered minor injuries.
