Tell City takes title in 10-team elementary wrestling conference

NEWBURGH—The Tell City Wrestling Club had five individual champions as it won the 10-team Southern Indiana Elementary Wrestling Conference tourney Jan. 20.

Coy Hammack in the kindergarten-grade two 55-pound division and Shane Braunecker in grades 3-5 75-pound weight class each pinned all three of his opponents.
Tyce DuPont (K-2 60 pounds) and Corey Braunecker (grades 3-5 70 pounds) each went 3-0 with two pins to win their divisions.
Will Kirtley went 2-0 with one pin to take the grades 3-5 135-pound title.
Keaton Lloyd (grades 3-5 85 pounds) went 3-1 with two pins and Brayden Lain (K-2 50 pounds) went 2-1 with two pins as they placed second.
Also placing second were Morgen Scherzinger (K-2 45), Trent Cail (K-2 65), Alex Stiff (K-2 105), Cole Gentry (grades 3-5 55), Alec Stahly (grades 3-5 105), and Levi Nash (grades 3-5 160).
Tell City placed fifth in the middle school (grades 6-8) conference tourney with two individual champions.
Devon Casebolt went 2-0 with one pin to take the middle school 75-pound title and David Teague won the 105-pound division.
