Tell City stops Rangers in semifinals

TELL CITY - When a basketball team is struggling with its outside shooting, it will often decide to work the ball inside to its center.

Tell City's girls team followed half of that prescription in beating Forest Park 33-25 in the Class 2A sectional semifinals Friday.

The Marksmen led 16-14 at halftime despite hitting only 7 of 22 shots from the field, as Forest Park had also hit only 7 of 22 from the field.

The teams were also even in rebounds (15 apiece), turnovers (six each) and free throws (each 0 for 0) at that point.
