Tell City routs Wolfpack

TELL CITY—Logan Flannagan and Lacey Briggs fueled a hot start that propelled Tell City past Crawford County 44-22 in girls basketball Friday.
Flannagan scored 10 points and Briggs nine as the Marksmen built a 25-6 lead in the first 13 minutes.
Flannagan hit three inside shots—one in transition and one on a rebound—in that stretch. She also hit a 15-footer from the wing and made two free throws.
Briggs made two fast-break layups off steals and also hit a 17-footer and a three-pointer.
She also had a nice assist on an inside basket by Kassidie Hayes in that stretch.
“We did a good job of running the offense early,” said Tell City Coach John Lyons. “I thought Lacey played really well.”
Flannagan finished with 14 points. Briggs added 13 points, three assists and three steals and McKenzie Hayes contributed seven points, seven rebounds, five steals, four blocks and three assists.
The Marksmen hit 42.9 percent (18 of 42) from the field.
Sophomore forward Brooke Sauer led Crawford County with 10 points. The 0-3 Wolfpack have no seniors on their roster.
Tell City, 2-0, will host Reitz Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Taylor Gentry scored 12 points as Tell City won the JV game 27-19.
Celina Snyder added six points and Brenee Leibering five for the Marksmen, who were playing their first JV game of the season.
