Tell City native elected Virginia Theatre president

RADFORD, Va. – Wesley Young, son of Brenda Lee, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Young of Tell City, was recently elected president of the Virginia Theatre Association.
This organization was formed in the 1970s to foster, encourage and assist in the practice and study of theatre on all levels and is a major advocate for the arts in Virginia.
The election took place at the general business meeting during VTA’s annual conference in Reston, VA, Oct. 28-31.
This year’s conference boasted more than 1,500 attendees participating in workshops, a secondary play festival and college and high school auditions and an awards banquet which featured comedienne Ana Gasteyer delivering the keynote address.
Young is a tenured associate professor of theatre at Radford University in Radford, Va. He is a Western Kentucky University graduate.
