TELL CITY – For the second time in less than three years, a Tell City man has been arrested for molesting a child.
Douglas Fuchs of 3 High St. was jailed Wednesday on two counts of child molesting, one a Class A felony and the second a Class C felony.
According to Tell City Police Lt. Alan Malone, an investigation by his department and the Perry County Department of Child Services alleges Fuchs inappropriately touched a child under the age of 14. A warrant was issued by the Perry Circuit Court and Fuchs was arrested at his residence without incident. He was being held on a $24,000 bond.
Fuchs was arrested on child-molesting charges in April 2011 for allegedly touching a girl under the age of 14. According to court records, he was ordered to serve three years and another five years on probation. He was released last year from the Indiana Department of Correction.
In 2005, Fuchs was charged with rape, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement and sexual battery. However, those charges were later dismissed.
If convicted of a Class A felony, Fuchs faces between 20 and 50 years in prison, with a 30-year sentence considered the advisory punishment under state law.
He could also be fined up to $10,000.
