TELL CITY – A Tell City man charged early this year with child molesting has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and another four years of probation.

Jason R. King, 31, pleaded guilty in late October to three Class C felony counts of child molesting and received a sentence of eight years on each count.

He was ordered to serve all three sentences consecutively, with four years of the sentence on the last charge suspended. If he receives credit for good behavior, King could be free in 10 years.

King agreed to plead guilty under an agreement with the state and admitted to police he had improper sexual contact with a girl under the age of 14.

Tell City police opened an investigation Jan. 13 and King turned himself in after allegedly traveling to Oklahoma.

King, who was formerly employed at Branchville Correctional Facility, is being held at the Indiana Department of Correction's Reception Diagnostic Center.
