TELL CITY – Tell City police officers arrested a 27-year-old man Monday on charges he had illegal sexual contact with three children.
According to Tell City Police Lt. Alan Malone, Christopher L. Applegate, of 1124 10th St, Tell City, was arrested after a lengthy investigation by the Tell City Police Department and the Indiana Department of Child Services. Malone said the investigation led officers to conclude there were three victims, all under the age of 14. After the investigation was complete, reports were sent to the Perry County prosecutor’s office.
Warrants on two counts of child molesting and one count of child solicitation were issued in Perry Circuit Court. Applegate was taken into custody without incident Monday. He was processed at the Tell City Police Department and transported to the Perry County Jail. He was being held on a $25,505 cash bond.
The child-molesting charges are Class A and Class C felonies, respectively, while the charge of child solicitation is a Class D felony.
