Tell City loses 2 PAC games

LINCOLN CITY—Heritage Hills scored an unearned run on a two-out error in the fifth inning to beat Tell City 2-1 in PAC girls softball Wednesday.

Tell City tied the score 1-1 with a run in the fifth inning on singles by Hana Reed and Courtney Cain and a double by Sydney Grass.

But the Marksmen were unable to score again despite outhitting the Patriots 7-6.

Reed and Lauren Goffinet each had two hits for the Marksmen.

Josalyn Ress pitched a complete game for Tell City to take the loss. She struck out five and walked one.

Tell City lost another PAC game at North Posey Thursday, falling 16-1 to the Vikings.

The Vikings outhit Tell City 13-2 and also took advantage of four Marksman errors.

Sophomore Shelley Schmitt pitched the two-hitter for the Vikings. She struck out eight and walked one.

She also hit a home run in their 11-run second inning.

Lauren Roberts pitched a complete game for Tell City. She walked two and struck out two.

Tell City, 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the PAC, will visit Lanesville Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
