Tell City, Leopold prep for weekend parades

PERRY COUNTY – Taking time from a busy schedule, Santa Claus will be the guest of honor at two weekend parades in Perry County. He’ll gather wishes of children and offer “Merry Christmas” greetings to hundreds of people along routes in Tell City and Leopold.  

Tell City’s Christmas parade will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a variety of Christmas in the Park events in City Hall Park from 2 to 4 p.m., as well as an annual chili cook-off. Free tastings will be offered. 

Santa Claus will be in City Hall Park from 2 to 4 and there will be hot chocolate and cookies and caroling.

Lineup for Tell City’s parade will begin at 3 p.m. in the student parking lot at Tell High School.

Leopold Parade Sunday

Leopold will host its annual parade Sunday at 1 p.m. Lineup will begin at 12:30 p.m. and all parade entries need to be in formation by that time. Parade goers should also be in town by 12:30.

Stepping Stones Preschool will sell chili, baked goods, hot chocolate and coffee in Leopold Park and Santa Claus will greet children there after the event. For more information, call Guillaume’s Store at 843-5134
