Tell City Junior-Senior High to hold honors program Monday

TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School announces it will hold its annual honors program for students in grades 7-12 at 7 p.m. Monday in the school auditorium.
Among the students who will be recognized are those who achieved places on the first three grading period honor rolls for the 2010-11 school year. Also, those students who have qualified for the President’s Award for Educational Excellence by scoring a Pass+ on state testing in mathematics and language arts and maintaining a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the first semester of the current school year will be recognized.
Additional recognition will be given to those students who will receive the American Legion outstanding eighth-grade boy and girl awards, principal’s awards for the top two students with the highest GPA for the year in grades 7 – 11, and Citizen of the Year awards for an underclassman and senior student. The two seniors with the highest cumulative GPAs will be recognized with medallions at the senior scholarship awards program May 22.
Attendance is by invitation only with several distinguished guests being invited. The event is underwritten by German American Bank.
Light refreshments will be offered in the Red Apple Inn following the program.
