Tell City hitters blast Memorial

TELL CITY—Tell City pounded out 15 hits in a 15-5 baseball win over Evansville Memorial Monday.
The Marksmen also played their best defensive game of the season, committing no errors.
And they got a solid complete-game pitching performance from Rhett Baumeis-ter, who gave up seven hits and three walks and struck out three.
“We played a good game,” said Tell City Coach Jason Wilkerson. “This is the way I thought we could play.”
Gant Miller went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs to lead the offense.
Trent Rainey also drove in three runs as he went 2 for 2 plus a sacrifice fly.
Spenser Beard and Hunter Rowe each went 3 for 4 with a double, with Rowe driving in two runs.
Austin Paulin added a single and a double and Reed Goffinet also had two hits.
Tell City committed five errors in a 5-4 PAC loss at Gibson Southern Saturday.
C.J. Rowe pitched the first eight innings for Tell City, giving up only four hits. Three of the four runs against him were unearned.
Reed Goffinet pitched the ninth inning and gave up one hit and one unearned run.
Beard hit a triple and a single to lead Tell City’s four-hit attack.
Tell City, 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the PAC, will host Heritage Hills Friday at 4:30 p.m.
