HUNTINGBURG—Elizabeth Bishop and Hanna Goffinet each placed third in an individual event to Tell City to third place in the PAC junior high girls swim meet Thursday.
Heritage Hills won with 334 points. Tell City scored 183.
Bishop placed third in the 50-yard butterfly in 35.66 seconds.
Goffinet swam the 50 breaststroke in 43.00 for her third place.
Goffinet and Bishop teamed with Makenzie Alvey and Kassi Peter to take third in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:16.16.
Alvey, Loren Braunecker, Goffinet and Bishop placed third in the 400 free relay in 5:31.65.
Alvey took fourth in the 100 free in 1:15.32 and fifth in the 100 individual medley in 1:24.52.
Kira Maddle, Taylor Childers, Cassie Bryant and Peter placed fifth in the 200 medley relay in 2:56.15.
Peter and Childers both scored in the 100 free, with Peter taking seventh in 1:18.55 and Childers 12th in 1:26.81.
Those two also placed in the 50 free, with Peter eighth in 35.15 and Childers 10th in 37.59. Hunter Childers was 12th in 38.59.
Three Archers also scored in the 50 backstroke: Maddle eighth in 43.90, Braunecker ninth in 44.07, and Maribeth Ammon 11th in 48.37.
Goffinet placed eighth in the 100 IM in 1:26.99 and Braunecker was eighth in the 200 free in 3:02.20.
Taylor Childers was ninth in the 50 breast in 46.72 and Maddle 11th in the 50 fly in 53.57.
Tell City finished the season with a 3-4 record.
“It’s such a short season for us—about four weeks—that we don’t get to train like the high school kids do,” noted Tell City Coach Jennifer Hall. “But it’s good experience for the kids. Every year some of them from the junior high program who didn’t swim age group join the high school team.”
