Tell City girls 2nd in triangular

TELL CITY—Elizabeth Bishop and Makenzie Alvey each won one event to lead Tell City to second place in a junior high girls triangular swim meet Thursday.

Heritage Hills won with 124 points. Tell City scored 111 and South Spencer 65.

Bishop won the 50-yard butterfly in 35.89 seconds.

Alvey won the 100 freestyle in 1:13.78 and placed second in the 100 individual medley in 1:24.82.

The Archers placed second in all three relays.

Kira Maddle, Hanna Goffinet, Alvey and Bailey Powell swam the 200 medley relay in 2:36.77.

Goffinet, Kassi Peter, Powell and Bishop swam the 200 free relay in 2:23.54.

Alvey, Peter, Powell and Bishop swam the 400 free relay in 5:35.12.

Peter placed second in the 50 free in 34.15 and third in the 100 free in 1:19.63.

Darian Oliva took third in diving with 65.10 points, just 2.05 points behind second place.

Other Archers placing third were Bishop in the 200 free in 2:54.61, Loren Braunecker in the 50 backstroke in 43.76, and Goffinet in the 50 breaststroke in 45.01.

Tell City, 1-2, will compete in the PAC meet at Tecumseh March 17-19 at 5 p.m. each day.
