Tell City to crown royalty at homecoming

TELL CITY - Tell City High School will crown its 2009 football homecoming queen and king before the Marksmen take on the North Posey Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Homecoming ceremonies begin approximately at 7 p.m.

Queen Candidates

Mariah Alvey is the daughter of Bill and Wendy Alvey. While in high school, she has been involved with basketball, student council, Renaissance Leadership Class and Pep and Spanish clubs. Alvey plans to major in elementary education in college.

The daughter of Joe and Pam Hay, Chelsea Hay is involved with cheerleading, student council, film society, Key and Spanish clubs, Health Occupations Students of America and has served as class treasurer. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana to major in nursing.

Mariah Cheyenne Nix, daughter of Barry and Diane Nix, is the vice president of her class and of the National Honor Society. She's also been involved with Key Club, Renaissance, cross country, track, Pep Club, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and student council.

Nix plans to attend Indiana University and major in pre-law with a minor in political science.

Bethany Peter is the daughter of Joyce and Gary Stath and Randy Peter.

She has been involved with tennis, Pep, Spanish and Outdoorsmen clubs, student council, class historian, We the Youth of Perry County and Perry County Power of Youth. She plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis to major in nursing.

King Candidates

Ty DuPont is the son of Bruce DuPont and Connie Blair. He has been involved with Pep and Advocates clubs and football. He plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana but is undecided on a major.

The son of Donnie and Debbie Froehlich, Dylan Froehlich was on the football and wrestling teams. He plans to attend college on a wrestling scholarship but is undecided where.

Nick Hawkins is the son of Steve and Patty Hawkins. While in high school he has been involved with Spanish and Pep clubs, marching and concert bands and winter drumline. He plans to attend college after graduation but is undecided on a major.

Cody Nash, son of James Nash and the late Bobbi Jo Braunecker, has been involved with football and track. He plans to attend college to major in business or criminal justice.

Underclass attendants are juniors Samantha Zellers, daughter of Gary and Suzette Zellers, and Christoph Drexler, son of Georg and Christina Drexler; sophomores Hana Reed, daughter of Tim and Debbie Reed, and Trent Nelson, son of Barbara and Brian Steen and John Nelson and freshmen Kendall Bennett, daughter of Steve and Danielle Kirtley, and Ryan Dooley, son of Terry Dooley and James and Diana Patton.

Crown and tiara carriers are Bren Miller, son of Jeff and Michelle Miller, and Amelia Robinson, daughter of Ronnie and Jody Robinson.
