Tell City boys outswim Bears

TELL CITY—Greg Clayton and Justin Peter each won two individual events and a relay as Tell City lost to Evansville Central 78-73 in boys swimming Tuesday.

Clayton won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.13 and the 500 free in 5:40.83.

He teamed with Trevor Nelson, Nick Bower and Peter to win the 400 free relay in 3:52.15.

Peter also won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.85 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.22.

Nelson won the 100 free in 56.20 seconds and Bower placed third in 59.34.

Logan Bolin won the diving with 142.10 points.

Bower placed second in the 50 free in 24.90 and Nelson was third in 25.20.

Corey Burris took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:25.82.

David McDaniel placed third in the 200 free in 2:37.79 and Jarrod Clayton was third in the 100 back in 1:14.19.

Tell City competed in a three-team meet at Mount Vernon Saturday, falling to Vincennes Lincoln 84-67 and to Mount Vernon 124-46.

The three teams actually competed together and Bolin was the only Marksmen to finish first, taking the diving with 158.70 points.

Greg Clayton placed second in the 500 free in 5:39.62 and teamed with Nelson, Bower and Peter to take second in the 400 free relay in 3:53.02.

Peter placed third in the 100 back in 1:04.45 and Burris took third in the 100 breast in 1:25.95.

Bower placed fourth in the 50 free in 24.97.

Tell City, 7-19, will host Tecumseh and Gibson Southern tonight at 5:30.
