Tell City boys 1-1 Saturday

MOUNT VERNON - Tell City won the 400-yard free relay as it finished second in a three-team boys swim meet Saturday.

Tell City beat Vincennes Lincoln 87-63 but lost to Mount Vernon 129-54.

Zach Avallone, Isaac Schaefer, Justin Peter and Greg Clayton swam the 400 free relay in 3:51.11 to win by 4.43 seconds.

Avallone placed second in the 50 free in 24.47 seconds and third in the 100 free in 55.95.

Bryson May placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.75 and third in the 200 individual medley in 2:30.67.

Clayton placed third in the 500 free in 5:48.46 and fourth in the 200 free in 2:06.98.

Schaefer was fourth in the 500 free in 5:50.26.

Peter took third in the 100 butterfly in 1:10.87 and fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.78.

Tell City beat South Spencer 114-49 last Wednesday as May, Peter and Avallone each won two individual events and two relays.

Peter, Nick Bower, May and J.D. Bryant won the 200 medley relay in 2:11.97.

Avallone, May, Schaefer and Clayton won the 200 free relay in 1:50.14.

Avallone, Clayton, Schaefer and Peter took the 400 free relay in 4:13.29.

Avallone also won the 50 free in 25.29 and the 100 free in 58.66.

May won the 200 IM in 2:32.93 and the 100 breast in 1:16.58.

Peter won the 100 fly in 1:10.02 and the 100 back in 1:09.25.

Clayton won the 200 free in 2:07.07. Schaefer was second in 2:07.08 and Nick Dauby third in 2:32.34.

The Marksmen also swept the top three places in the 500 free. Schaefer won in 5:48.11, Clayton was second in 5:49.15, and Trevor Nelson was third in 6:28.72.

Logan Bolin placed second in diving with 122.15 points and Jarrod Clayton was second in the 100 back in 1:24.99.

Nelson was third in the 50 free in 27.34, Dauby third in the 100 free in 1:12.39, and Austin Clayton third in the 100 breast in 1:31.64.
