Converter boxes to be needed for analog TVs using antennas

By Janet Robb

PERRY COUNTY – Television has come a long way from the small black-and-white screens with rabbit ears first available in the 1930s. Now people can choose from small flat screens to large home entertainment centers that can rival movie theaters.

The public also has several different ways to feed images through their TVs including antennas, satellite and cable, but people who own analog televisions and rely on antennas will soon have to upgrade to  digital-compatible TVs or buy digital-to-analog converter boxes to watch over-the-air broadcasts.
