Tecumseh stops shorthanded TC

LYNNVILLE - Tecumseh held Tell City to five hits as the Braves swept a Diamond League baseball doubleheader Tuesday.

Travis Jones had Tell City's only hit in the first game as Tecumseh won 7-1.

Ben Stiles' ground out drove in Kyle Osborne with Tell City's only run. Osborne reached base by being hit by a pitch.

Jordan Rhodes pitched the first 32?3 innings for Tell City to take the loss. He gave up six hits and no walks and struck out two.

Tecumseh won the second game 4-2. Tell City had all four of its hits, including a double by Osborne, in the fourth inning.

Andy Chinn pitched all four innings for Tell City in that game. He gave up six hits and no walks and struck out four.

Tell City had four Babe Ruth League players among its 10 players, as several of the veteran players were gone on a French Club trip to Europe.

Tell City also lost a doubleheader at Gibson Southern last Thursday 4-0 and 3-1.

Ben Stiles went 2 for 2 to account for all of Tell City's hits in the first game.

Eric Arnold pitched that game for Tell City, giving up four hits and two walks, hitting two batters, and striking out two.

Stiles, Rhodes and Shane Weedman each had one hit for Tell City in the second game.

Jones hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Tell City's only run.

Jones pitched that game, giving up three hits and three walks and striking out three.

Two of the Titans' hits came in their three-run third inning. A walk, an error, a wild pitch and a passed ball also aided that rally.

Tell City, 0-6, is scheduled to play at South Spencer Friday at 6 p.m.
