TELL CITY - The Tell City Regional Arts Association held its third annual student juried show March 14 and 15 at the Schergens Center, in Tell City.

On display this year were more than 230 student works of art from Tell City, Perry Central and Hancock County junior high and high schools, Cannelton and Heritage Hills high schools and North Hancock Elementary School.

Marsha Fiscus and Deborah Atwell had their work cut out for them as this year's jurors. Fiscus has been the department head at Castle High School in Newburgh for 35 years, teaching ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking and art history and appreciation.

Atwell is the owner of Grey Wolf Studio in Hawesville, Ky. She has taught oil-painting classes in her studio since 1998. Atwell also teaches at Schrodt Art Studio in Louisville, Ky.

Edward Jones sponsored the Purchase Award, which went to Rachel Cummings of Perry Central, for her 2-D piece called "Shades."

Kelsey Boarman's collage, "Newspaper," not only won over the jurors and took Best of Show but was also awarded People's Choice, which was awarded by the public.
