LINCOLN CITY—A.J. Flynn and Dylan Froehlich won individual titles as Tell City finished sixth in the PAC wrestling tourney Saturday.

The Marksmen scored 131 points, one behind fifth-place South Spencer.

They were shorthanded due to injuries to Eric Sabelhaus and Dustin Gould.

Two other starters, Jessie Lawalin and Matt Sabelhaus, had to sit out because it was discovered they had too many weigh-ins for the season after competing in a reserve tourney at the start of the season.

Had they competed in the PAC, they would have been ineligible for the sectional.

The Tell Citians who wrestled did well, though.

Froehlich pinned Elvis Roach of Heritage Hills in 2:46 and Brandon Morse of Pike Central in 1:13.

He then beat Kyle Schneider of Southridge 5-0 in the finals to repeat as 215-pound champion.

Flynn won the 119 title with two major decisions and a pin.

He beat Luke Mundy of Southridge 13-0, pinned Luke Small of South Spencer in 3:49, and decisioned Kevin Baron of Heritage Hills 11-3.

Andy Kast (130) and Justin Kleemann (160) placed second.

Kast beat Pike Central by forfeit and eliminated Zeke Harmon of South Spencer by injury default in 4:14 to reach the finals.

Travis Girten of North Posey then beat Kast 6-0.

“The kid who beat Andy is a four-time PAC champ—he’s the real deal,” said Tell City Coach Joe Litherland.

Kleemann pinned Anthony Fischer of Forest Park in 1:28 and Cory Little of North Posey in 5:45 before losing to Jeremy Steckler of Southridge 3-2 in the finals.

Ryan Henrickson (145) placed fourth, going 2-2 with two pins.

Matt Leistner (171) and Jordan Keown (heavyweight) each placed sixth.

Tell City will compete in the Castle sectional Saturday at 8:45 a.m.

Team scores: Heritage Hills 226.5, Southridge 220, Gibson Southern 177.5, North Posey 168, South Spencer 132, Tell City 131, Forest Park 109.5, Pike Central 94, Tecumseh 47
