TC-PC Library board discusses possible Cannelton merger

TELL CITY - A merger between the county's two libraries could happen with or without either board's approval according to Library Director Larry Oathout.

At a Feb. 6 Tell City-Perry County Public Library Board meeting, Oathout told members he and Sally Walker, Cannelton Public Library director, have discussed the possibility of merging and what it would mean to both districts. While the idea of merging to unite the county libraries is not new, it could be forced because of the Indiana Commission on Local Government Reform report, also known as the Kernan-Shepard Report.
