TELL CITY - Tell City's defense forced 32 turnovers as the Marksmen beat Cannelton 51-15 in girls basketball Friday.
Tell City didn't press but played an aggressive 2-3 zone defense much of the game. And the Marksmen took advantage of the Bulldogs' picking up their dribble about 30 feet from the basket several times.
"We've got to learn to get the ball across midcourt and when we do, to not pick our dribble up," said Cannelton Coach Jeff Miller.
He said he thought "a lot of (those mistakes) were due to first-game jitters" on his young team.
