TELL CITY - The state is down about 20 percent in income-tax collections, Perry County Council President Pete Franzman said at a regular meeting May 28, and "it would follow that we'll be down about 20 percent in our EDIT and COIT collection."

Deputy Assessor Pam Goffinet said Friday the county's share of county-option income taxes for 2008 was $738,730. The revenues go to all taxing units in the county, with an overall tally of $1,361,567. The county portion declined to $730,713 for 2009, out of a total $1,370,603.
