CANNELTON – The Perry County Soil and Water Conservation District received a Clean Water Indiana Grant in 2012 for a pasture-hay land cost share program. The purpose of this cost-share program is to provide technical and financial assistance to Perry County land-owners, for pasture-hay land planting. Fourteen landowners received cost-share funds in the fall of 2012 and the remaining cost-share funds will be available in the spring of 2013.
The program is open to all Perry County landowners and offers a cost-share payment of 50 percent of the actual cost for a pasture-hay land planting, not to exceed $150 per acre with a cap of $750 per land-owner. The amount of $13,500 was allocated for this program and no further funding will be available into contractual agreements when that amount has been depleted.
Eligible applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis beginning March 4. Planting will occur through May 15 to meet government standards and specifications.
