Students with Perry County attend technology conferences

EVANSVILLE – Matthew Hafele, the 12-year-old son of Jeremy and Beth Hafele of Evansville, and Christina Muller, the 11-year-old daughter of Aaron and Gina (Ramsbottom) Muller of Evansville both participated in several technical conferences with the Oak Hill eLeaders group this summer.

The group presented a student showcase at the ISTE conference in San Antonia, Texas, in June and assisted in the technology playground at eRev at North High School in Evansville in July. In addition, Muller was involved in a group presentation at the GCCC13 conference in Jeffersonville in July while Hafele presented a keynote address at the same conference. His address can be viewed on the GCCC13 Youtube account.
The eLeaders are a group of sixth graders from Oak Hill Elementary in Evansville who assist teachers with learning new technologies, as well as working with nonprofits with technology needs.
They have worked with Aurora in Evansville with both the design of a website as well as assisted at their annual gingerbread competition. The group is lead by teacher DeLyn Beard.
Muller is the granddaughter of Robert Ramsbottom, formerly of Derby.
Hafele is the grandson of Tonya Hafele of Cannelton, Bob Hafele of Dominica and Larry and Paula (Kleeman) Pierson of Carmi, Ill. He is the great-grandson of Alice Wittmer of Tell City.
