Students learn about life cycles

-A A +A

Students in Kelli Braunecker’s second-grade classroom at William Tell Elementary School watch and observe as eggs are placed inside an incubator.

Students are learning about life cycles and hope to hatch chicks. Once the chicks hatch, students signing a responsibility contract with parental permission will be allowed to take one home and care for it. The rest of the chicks will go to a local farm. In addition, the students have been doing various experiments using eggs. A favorite experiment of the class was the egg in a bottle experiment. The students were amazed to watch as a lighted match burned up the oxygen in the bottle, which then created a vacuum and pulled a cooked egg into the bottle.
