Students earn state awards

CANNELTON - Perry County's animal shelter and the furry friends-in-waiting who live there have four young, state-certified allies in the Cannelton Media Club.

This year's media-club membership started out larger, but has dwindled to the handful of 9- and 10-year-olds who now assemble for after-school meetings Tuesdays at Myers Grade School. Their impact, however, is much larger than their size and age indicates. As has become customary for teacher Joan Goble's media-club students, the current group has proven itself worthy of state-level recognition.
