Perry Central superintendent pinch-hits for commencement speaker

EVANSVILLE - Twenty-one Perry and Spencer County residents were among more than 600 students whose efforts toward associate degrees were capped Saturday by an Ivy Tech Community College commencement ceremony in Evansville.

Perry Central Community School Superintendent Mary Roberson provided the commencement address in lieu of scheduled speaker Douglas Bawel, president of Jasper Engines and Transmissions, who was unable to attend due to a family medical emergency.
