Storm Update: Some Southern Indiana Power customers still in the dark

TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Power employees, aided by outside crews, are working to restore power to members still without electricity Monday morning.

As of 8 a.m. 511 homes and businesses were without power due to 135 separate outages.

More than 6,500 customers were affected by the ice storm Tuesday night and Wednesday and crews have worked around the clock to restore power in Perry and Spencer counties. Southern Indiana Power also serves small areas of Warrick and Dubois counties.

A shelter remains open in the parish hall at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City for those needing a warm place to stay or a hot meal.
