Demonstrating on a healthy animal owned and held by Tiffany Adams, Jodi Lovejoy of the Indiana Horse Council explains to law-enforcement officers and others Thursday how to determine that a horse has been abused. In the event sponsored by the Humane Society of Perry County and a recently formed large-animals committee, participants were also taught skills such as how to approach a horse they need to investigate. Two horses being fostered by members of the committee are recovering from abuse and were used to demonstrate signs investigators should look for.
