Southridge shuts out Tell City

HUNTINGBURG—Southridge won every match in straight sets to beat Tell City 5-0 in PAC girls tennis Thursday.

The closest match was in No. 1 singles, where Katie Whitsitt beat Bethany Peter 6-4, 6-4.

Southridge won all but one game in the other two singles matches. Tonya Kunkler beat Alexis Braun 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 and Mackenzi Seib beat Rachel Woznicki 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3.

Peter and McGooky shut out Brooke Birchler and Mary Burst 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 doubles.

Morrison and Buschkoetter beat Vivian Clarke and Helen Schmidt 6-0, 6-2 in No. 2 doubles.

Tell City reserves played several times, as Southridge had more girls, and won 4 of 8 matches.

Samantha Kiplinger, Lily Wargel and Haley Ward won for Tell City.

Tell City, 1-8 overall in varsity and 0-4 in PAC, will visit Tecumseh today at 4:30 p.m.
