HUNTINGBURG—Tell City shot one of its best rounds of the season but lost to Southridge 160-176 in boys golf Tuesday.

Tell City senior Corey Young shot a 1-over-par 37 for medalist honors. He birdied the last hole, the par-3, No. 9 hole, to edge Southridge’s Jake Kilian by one stroke.

Other Tell City scorers were Vic Schutzius and Logan Bolin each with a 44 and Alex Cole 52.

Jake Roland, who shot a 54, and Nathan Wood, 56, also played for the Marksmen.

“We shot under 180, which is real good,” said Tell City Coach Jim Meek. “But Southridge’s four scorers shot 37, 38, 40 and 45.”

Tell City, 7-31, was scheduled to play Heritage Hills at Christmas Lake Wednesday and will compete in the Jasper sectional June 5.
