ELIZABETH—Cannelton had better than usual perimeter shooting but lost to South Central 56-50 in girls basketball Saturday.

Payton Reed hit four of five three-point shots for Cannelton and finished with 14 points, one fewer than teammate Sarah Powers.

Nakaa Myers added nine points on three three-point baskets in the first nine minutes.

Cannelton Coach Jeff Miller said fatigue may have been a factor in the Bulldogs’ loss, as they were playing their fifth game in eight days and had played New Harmony just 15 hours earlier.

“We just tuckered out there at the end,” he said.

Cannelton, 5-11, will visit Rock Creek Christian Friday at 5:30 p.m.
