PERRY COUNTY - Southern Indiana Power was one of 11 electric cooperatives from Indiana recognized for completing the Rural Electric Safety Accreditation Program during the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's regional meeting in Indianapolis Sept. 3-5.
Administered by NRECA, the program is a peer-review safety and loss-control evaluation of electric utilities. The program began in 1967 and has developed into a tool to assist cooperatives in maintaining high safety standards for the protection of employees and the communities they serve.
