Singles lift Tell City past Heritage Hills

LINCOLN CITY—Tell City won all three singles matches to beat Heritage Hills 3-2 in PAC girls tennis Thursday.
Addie Peter beat Meredith Balbach 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles, Cassie Bryant defeated Vanessa Lahee 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2, and Kelsey Gowers beat Alexis Rube 6-1, 6-4 in No. 3.
Heritage Hills’ Hannah Turner and Krystal Schmidt beat Emily Olberding and Megan Teague 6-1, 6-0 in No. 1 doubles.
Kayla Hildenbrand and Amber Schmidt beat Baylie Peter and Amy Hackbarth 6-1, 6-2 in No. 2 doubles.
Tell City, 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the PAC, could play Heritage Hills again in the Heritage Hills sectional semifinals Wednesday.
Tell City will play Boonville in the first round of the five-team sectional Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
The winner of that match will play Heritage Hills, which drew a first-round bye, Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
The championship match will be Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
