Some of the city’s ballfields have been mowed already as warm weather finally pushes grass to grow. The mercury reached well into the 60s Friday and daily highs were expected to remain at least that high early this week. City crews face a busy season with mowing. Discussed at last Monday’s board of public works and safety meeting was the opening of John F. Kennedy Pool. However, that likely won’t happen until late May.
