TROY - The Oct. 21 shooting death of a Troy man has been ruled an accident.
County Coroner Darrel Riley said Friday evidence showed Charles Leazenby, 19, slipped while standing on a hillside, causing the .22 caliber rifle he was carrying to discharge, striking the man in the chest. Riley said the bullet struck Leazenby's heart.
State police said the teen left his home that morning to go hunting but never returned. He was found by family members later that day.
