Shoot for the Stars in City Hall Park Friday

TELL CITY - The first of a five-part Shoot for the Stars musical talent contest will take place in City Hall Park Friday. Eighteen contestants from the ages of 13 to 48 will perform. The free series will be similar to events held last summer on Sundays with some contestants eliminated each month. Friday's performances begin at 5 p.m. On stage this week are Taneesa McKinney, Camille McKinney, Euriah Bryant, Jessalyn Sommer, Jamie Holman, Darian Oliva, Brianna Powers, Ricki Boling, Lindsay Hann, Jeffrey Dixon, Morgan Rainey, Kayla Kinnaird, Kendall Bennett, Terry Payne, Mercedes Miller, Brittany Patterson, Leah Lasher and Jazmine Simmons. Six contestants, Euriah Bryant, Jessalyn Sommer, Darian Oliva, Kayla Kinnaird, Leah Lasher and Jazmine Simmons, took part in last year's event.  During July, August and September, the audience will vote for the remaining contestants. Hosted by the Tell City Regional Arts Association, this month's sponsors are Tell City Wellness 2010 and summer sponsors are Cromwell Radio. C oncessions will be available for each event. Other events this summer: • June 4, 14 contestants in addition to returning performers Andy Brasher and Elliot Sublett. • July 2, 10 contestants plus a Community Night. • Sept. 3, final night, three remaining contestants plus band Chasin' Chickens opening for returning artists Randy Lanham and Wildman.
