SANTA CLAUS – Santa’s Candy Castle is gearing up for its second annual Jelly Belly Day, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The free event will feature a wide range of Jelly Belly-themed events and activities for the entire family.
The day’s events will be highlighted by an appearance from Mr. Jelly Belly, the confectionery company’s official mascot, who will pose for pictures with families and hand out free Jelly Belly samples.
A host of Jelly-Belly themed contests will be held throughout the day. A Jelly Belly coloring contest runs all day and gives children of all ages a chance to show off their artistic talents coloring a picture of Mr. Jelly Belly.
Jelly Belly trivia contests will be held at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m., giving families a chance to demonstrate their Jelly Belly knowledge. The trivia contests feature fun questions in a multiple-choice format that gives even those without great knowledge of Jelly Belly a chance to participate and have fun.
A “bean-counter” contest will run all day, offering guests the chance to guess the number of Jelly Belly beans in a large container for a chance to win it.
Beanboozled contests will be held at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. and is expected to be the most popular contests of the day. Beanboozled is a Jelly Belly product that consists of jelly beans that may either taste really great (like chocolate pudding) or really bad (like canned dog food), but whether they’re good or bad cannot be distinguished until they’ve been eaten. Contestants in these events will try to outlast fellow competitors in a battle of wills. Beanboozled contests are as much for spectators as they are for the competitors.
All contests are free to enter and offer guests the chance to win fantastic Jelly Belly merchandise and collectibles, some of which are not available to the general public.
A Jelly Belly New Product Showcase will be on display throughout the day, giving guests the opportunity to be the first to check out all the exciting new products that Jelly Belly is introducing this year.
“We received such overwhelmingly positive feedback about last year’s Jelly Belly Day, that we’ve decided to make it an annual event,” said castle owner Kevin Klosowski. “We love being able to offer free events like this to give families compelling entertainment options right here in southern Indiana.”
The castle is located at 15499 N Indiana 245 in Santa Claus – approximately one mile south of Holiday World. Additional information is available on the castle’s Web site at www.SantasCandyCastle.com or their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SantasCandyCastle.
