History, music merge on Schweizer stage

The story of our founding fathers' efforts in the Continental Congress, set to a musical theme, will serve as a just kickoff to Tell City's sesquicentennial.

The Schweizer Fest Inc. production of 1776 opens Thursday, July 31 and continues through Sunday, Aug. 3, in the Tell City High School Auditorium. The curtain lifts at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased from any cast or crew member or by calling 547-7563 or 547-6156.

Prices are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. All seats are reserved, so purchase tickets early for the best seats.

The musical covers the period just prior to and including the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
