In the Sept 13 NEWS article titled "Tell City employees to see 25-cent pay raises", imbedded in the middle is a sub topic, "Council Endorses TCHS Improvements". Reference is made to a website supporting the referendum, www.tcjshs.org. I reviewed the site. It has one purpose, to get the tax referendum passed in the November election. Concerned about who was supporting the site, I talked to the asst. school superintendent, Laura Noble. She clearly stated the school was not behind it, nor was it being funded by school funds. She did not know who was behind the site, but referred me to Larry Bryant, board president. I called Larry and was told that he knew who was behind it, but they did not want their names revealed. Interesting, isn't it? The "tax and spend" group are well organized and intend to push this referendum to victory. They don't have the courage of their convictions, but hide behind an anonymous website. Let's call the cowards out!
Ever article I write has my name attached. There are many taxpayers(including myself) that are strongly opposed to the referendum and continued spending on the old high school. Also, buried in the Sept 13 article is a plan to build a Jr. High gym. Can you emagine the gall it takes to push these programs given the present economic conditions! Worst depression in our lifetime, unemployent near 10 percent, housing market sorely depressed. There is little if any good economic news, yet these "tax and spend" do-gooders want to circumvent the property tax cap and raise your taxes anyway.
Could this secertive group be local politicans? Community big shots? Some contractor?
