School board OKs hirings, retirements

Welding classes offered through Ivy Tech

TELL CITY - The retirements of two long-time William Tell Elementary School staff members were among personnel actions approved by the Tell City-Troy Township School Board at a regular meeting Tuesday.

Cook Linda Tempel will retire after 25 years of service to the corporation, Elementary Principal Laura Noble said. Third-grade teacher Carla Owen's early retirement will cap 33 years in education.

"That's amazing," Noble said of their longevity. "It means so much to the kids."
