SANTA CLAUS – Santa’s Candy Castle will host a chain-saw-carving event Sunday.
The daylong event, which is open to the public with free admission, will feature three of the tri-state’s top chain-saw artists.
Each artist will exhibit a collection of finished chainsaw art, and will work throughout the day carving a large event piece. The artists will take a short break from their main piece to compete head-to-head in a special one-hour quick-carve competition.
All pieces carved during the day will be auctioned to the general public by Dixon & Dixon Auction Service of Tell City, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to The American Cancer Society.
The artist introduction and countdown to start will begin at 9 a.m.
Artists will work on their large event carving piece from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the head-to-head quick carve event will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
Artists will finish their large event piece between 2 and 4:30 p.m. and judging and an awards ceremony will follow. The public auction is set to kick off at 5 p.m.
